About Us
The body of my work reflects a discovery of creative methods to illustrate a story or a simple idea with a phrase “art looking for a story”. I want to find the story within the idea of a piece. I believe the viewer’s story is also as important as mine. In simple terms, I try to capture a moment of thought or feeling that reflects how I see or interpretate the idea but leave room for others to participate. More relatable in common understanding and description vs creating abstract “word salad” to describe the idea behind the piece. I like to explore various art techniques of expression using realism, minimalism, abstract art, and pop art for clarification but also the desire to see how my abilities can highlight the beauty of these art forms.
I have been painting these works of art for over 50 years. I have studied and illustrated pieces in watercolor, oils, acrylics, and raw pigment under the guidance of talented master artists primarily in Texas, Louisiana, but also Canada and abroad.
I have been blessed with a rich history of being invited and participating in art events, solo art exhibits, and regional/national festivals spanning over 40 years showcasing the quality and diversity of my work.

Art That Impacts
Client's Testimonials

Greg Doster is an amazing and talented artist. I have purchased several pieces of Greg’s work. Some I have kept for my home, and other pieces I have given as gifts. Greg has such an artistic eye to capture details, but more than that, Greg has such a gift to convey emotions through his art.

I’ve been purchasing Greg Doster‘s art, and I’m so impressed with the interpretive images that capture stories and events of certain times. I had the pleasure of knowing Greg Doster for 50 years. I’ve discovered his talent of late and going to continue acquiring his creations. If you’re looking for art that speaks to the heart and adds a touch of warmth to your space, I can’t recommend Greg's paintings enough!"

Greg Doster painted a watercolor of my childhood home. I had no actual photos of the entire house taken at the time, and it has since been demolished. The only thing I had was a photo of an oil painting done in the 80s by an amateur artist friend of my parents, a few photos of small parts of the house and its surroundings, and my MEMORIES. Greg did an amazing job, and the resulting painting is one of my greatest treasures! I have hung it in my living room where I frequently catch sight of it. It never fails to bring me joy!

Trying to determine and describe the style and approach of Greg Doster’s Art is a bit difficult and less straight forward. Words come to mind more like different, traditional, emotional, abstract, and even minimalistic. When I see the body of work, I think exploration of style or purpose continues. The Marfa/ Prada/ Beatles work for example, If you need a commission piece of work that captures a story that originates from you, I would recommend Greg to create that personal vision. I did.
