Based in Berlin, Floating Knobs was founded out of a passion for creating unique, performative instruments.

My fascination with sound exploration led me to spend nearly a decade studying and repairing broken gear to understand their electronic design and workflow. Over time, I developed a clear vision of what defines the quality and functionality of a truly performative instrument.

My first released instrument, Cuisine, is designed to be versatile enough to serve as the performative cornerstone of any setup.

Each instrument is carefully assembled to order by hand, with meticulous attention to detail. Few things are more disappointing to me than a malfunctioning piece of gear, which is why I commit to servicing my instruments for as long as compatible parts are available. With proper care, they should last well beyond the included 2-year warranty.

My journey in instrument design has been profoundly shaped by open-source resources. To give back to the community that inspired me, I will keep my hardware designs open source, so that the community keep learning and growing..
