Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) – Our commitment to you and beyond.
At Engelhart, our Environmental, Social, and Governance principles guide our daily operations. We always strive to do what is right by acting responsibly and with integrity, aiming to create a positive and lasting impact for our business, our employees and the wider community.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to treating every individual with fairness and transparency. By prioritising openness and respect within our organisation, our people are then empowered to contribute meaningfully to the broader communities we serve.
We’ve established an ESG Working Group, supported by senior management, to ensure our values translate into impactful action. We target selective yet meaningful initiatives where we can make a genuine, measurable difference. Our goal is simple: to turn good intentions into real action that supports a sustainable, high-performing business.

Environmental
Environmental Responsibility
We’re passionate about supporting the energy transition and helping to build an energy system that works – economically, practically, and sustainably. We transact renewables because they’re a vital and growing part of the energy mix, and clean energy markets require deep expertise to scale effectively. We also trade natural gas and are expanding our physical gas business, as gas remains essential for system reliability as intermittent renewable sources grow.
In addition, we design and transact carbon products because they create value, and help price emissions, drive accountability, and channel capital toward lower-carbon outcomes. These markets are deeply interconnected, and through our trading activities, we manage this complexity and design integrated solutions that support the global energy transition.
Engelhart has invested in an emissions calculator, a methodology, and an auditable process to enable us to assess and plan its emissions-reduction efforts. We are calculating carbon emissions from our general business operations, including our freight activity, and we engage in carbon-reducing initiatives.
We actively work to reduce our environmental impact through initiatives such as public transport subsidies, electric vehicle discounts and cycle schemes. Across all our offices, we promote energy efficiency and waste reduction to minimise our carbon footprint.
Social
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
As a people-first business, our success depends on drawing from a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. Our DEI program focuses on recruiting, retaining, and developing diverse talent; fostering genuine inclusion in our workplace; and incorporating DEI into our culture through office initiatives and team engagement.
To attract and hire diverse talent, we leverage our applicant tracking system’s built-in DEI tools to support fair and inclusive hiring – using anonymous CV reviews, anonymised test grading, structured interviews with scorecards, and inclusion nudges for interviewers. We also ensure our job postings use inclusive language to attract a diverse talent pool while minimising bias from the start.
Our reverse mentorship programme empowers employees to share their viewpoints and feedback directly with senior leadership on a regular basis, strengthening inclusion, leadership awareness, and performance across the organisation. Alongside our upcoming targeted leadership training programme, these initiatives support our goal of ensuring all employees feel included, empowered, and able to excel at Engelhart. Together, these initiatives drive continuous performance improvement across the company.
Engagement councils in each of our global offices enable local decision-making and give teams the flexibility to design initiatives and activities that reflect what matters most to their people. This helps to foster belonging, strengthen collaboration, and reinforce the shared values that define Engelhart – a workplace where everyone feels valued, connected and inspired.
Our senior leadership team actively oversees Engelhart’s DEI efforts, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement as we work to foster a truly diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all.
Employee Wellbeing
Supporting wellbeing is a key priority. We offer subsidised gym memberships, on-site fitness options, and access to Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) in several regions. We also provide ergonomic equipment to support healthy working environments, offer flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance, and invest in learning and development to support personal and professional growth.
Governance
Governance & Ethics
We uphold the highest standards of ethical business conduct, with a strong commitment to transparency, data privacy, and cybersecurity. Our governance framework is supported by robust compliance policies and clear channels for employee feedback and whistleblowing.
Together, these efforts reinforce a workplace of integrity, accountability, and trust – empowering our people, strengthening our culture, and supporting our long-term success.

Being part of the ESG working group has been really rewarding. I’m proud that the company is committed to turning ideas into real actions that make our workplace more inclusive, positive and supportive for everyone.
