Space Science Application Support & Operations
CSS provides scientific services in support of leading-edge physical, chemical, and biological R&D and technology testing programs designed to improve and protect human health and to investigate ecological processes. We also conduct and provide support for research destined for space. Our services go beyond the science by providing operation and utilization of facilities and equipment necessary for hardware and science payload development and testing.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
CSS delivers cost-effective, scientifically-sound solutions that align with our clients’ missions, achieve project goals, and most importantly, advance the protection of human health and the environment. We bring 40 years of experience working with federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Homeland Security, and Federal Emergency Management Agency on diverse environmental disaster preparedness and response efforts. Clients recognize our field, analytical, and technical support staff for their expertise in chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear hazards. We perform research, create guidance documents, conduct field demonstrations, deliver training, and provide analytical services in collaboration with federal researchers and on-scene response staff.

Our portfolio of facilities we manage include airfields, research laboratories, manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, industrial parks, and multi-tenant facilities. Our customers include Federal and State agencies, commercial businesses, industry organizations and domestic and International academic institutions
Human Health Risk Assessment
CSS offers the full range of environmental toxicology services for Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) – including hazard identification, toxicology assessment, exposure assessment, and risk characterization – to evaluate concerns to human health and the environment. We conduct and evaluate studies on the movement, metabolism, degradation, and fate of a broad range of chemicals including pesticides, herbicides, and other agricultural and industrial chemicals, as well as those produced from naturally occurring sources such as harmful algal blooms.
IT Services
CSS provides custom, turn-key Information Technology solutions that meet both the simple and critical needs of an evolving organization. Our solutions range from mission critical applications requiring fault tolerant systems and IT security compliance to managed infrastructure and desktop support. Our team includes solution architects and engineers that help our customers plan, design, test, and maintain their IT solutions.
Safety, Health, & Environmental Compliance
CSS offers comprehensive Safety, Health, & Environmental (SHE) services designed to protect environmental quality, the workforce, and public health. These were our founding services; we understand how to integrate SHE policies and services across entire organizations and worksites to create more effective and efficient outcomes.
Satellite Science & Environmental Intelligence
Earth observations by satellite provide critical data for monitoring and measuring changes to in our planet’s aquatic, terrestrial, and climatic environments, as well as man-made infrastructure and focal points. Sifting through these data, and understanding their power is essential to identifying vulnerabilities and developing forward-thinking solutions to address end-user needs.

Industrial Hygiene and Safety Support Services to NIH, Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS)
CSS has provided IH and safety support to NIH, DOHS as a prime contractor since 2007.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) ES&H Support
CSS provided on-site environmental, safety, and health support 24 hours per day/five days per week to support approximately 1,900 employees occupying 1.4 million square feet of floor space at BEP’s Washington, DC, facility (DCF).
Emergency Response Planning for New York City
CSS’ staff worked EPA Consequence Management Advisory Division (CMAD) to develop an integrated framework for responding if a biological agent was released over a wide area in New York City.
IT Support to NOAA Fisheries
Our IT services support included developing and integrating information management systems central to NOAA Fisheries’ management and protection of living marine resources and their habitats
Supporting EPA’s Emergency Response Efforts following Hurricane Harvey
CSS staff served as lead technical advisors on a multi-agency environmental response team after Hurricane Harvey.
Analytical Support for the Drinking Water Emergency in Hawaii
In response to the Red Hill Drinking Water Emergency, CSS staff mobilized on Christmas Day to set up mobile laboratory assets to analyze drinking water samples and confirm that the drinking water in residential homes was safe for human consumption.
Operation and Maintenance of High Throughput Mobile Laboratory Units
Analytical Support for EPA’s Consequence Management Advisory Division (CMAD) – CSS operates and maintains 10 mobile analytical laboratories under contract with EPA’s Office of Emergency Management.
Evaluation of Pesticide Safety
CSS supports the EPA Office of Pesticide Programs in evaluating the safety and potential health and environmental risks resulting from the use of pesticides and ensures that the data utilized for EPA’s regulatory decisions are scientifically sound.
Seafloor Substrate Mapping and Model Validation of Offshore Wind Sites
CSS supported developing a comprehensive seafloor characterization in support of a $3 billion offshore wind energy project in the coastal waters of New York.
Analysis for Coastal Operational Resiliency
CSS assisted with planning and executing a demonstration of three decontamination technologies on a USCG vessel contaminated with a benign surrogate for anthrax.
Managed Desktop Services
CSS designed, implemented, and provides ongoing support of a complex virtual desktop and server infrastructure for Space Florida.
