2012

UX and Data-Led Design

Back in the summer of 2012, Creative Blend went from being just an idea to something real.

After finishing his Master’s in Marketing, Grant took on a role at one of Brighton’s top digital agencies. There, he gained valuable experience working with some of the UK’s biggest brands. During this time he also had the opportunity to work with some inspirational local and national charities.
In talking with these charities, Grant discovered a recurring theme: while support from businesses was appreciated, it often came in the form of a one-off donation that barely covered the basics. What if there was a better way? What if an agency could donate free time offering skills, support, and mentorship to charity teams? That kind of impact could go further, last longer, and help charities grow their reach – allowing them to support even more people

Later that year, a conversation with Grant’s good friend Liam helped shape the vision. And with that, Creative Blend was born: a digital agency committed to providing annual pro bono support to charities, while building a strong client base to keep the mission sustainable. Right from the start, supporting our community wasn’t just a side note – it was at the heart of everything we did.

2016

Taking the Leap – Becoming a Limited Company

By 2016, Grant had been juggling Creative Blend alongside a full-time role at one of the world’s largest travel brands. But with three paying clients (two of whom are still with us today!) and four small charities successfully supported, it was time to make things official.

Creative Blend became a Limited Company – and Grant took the leap to go full-time.

2018

Expanding Our Services (and Our Team)

Fast forward to 2018, and it was time to broaden our offering. We added Marketing to our core services, alongside Design, UX, Conversion Rate Optimisation, and Development. This shift allowed us to bring together all of Grant’s passions in one place – blending creativity and strategy to support our clients more holistically. That year, we also welcomed our first team members: helping to develop key skills in both marketing and development. The Creative Blend team was growing!
2018

Becoming a Trustee

That same year, we worked closely with an incredible Brighton-based charity, Whoopsadaisy. We helped them refine their story and strengthen their digital presence. The more Grant learned about their work – supporting children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders – the more deeply connected he became.

When our initial charity commitment came to an end, Whoopsadaisy asked Grant to become a trustee. Of course, he said yes.

2019

Unexpected Meetings & New Adventures

Winter 2019 brought one of those chance moments that goes onto having a bigger impact than you’d expect. While crossing the road for a coffee in Hove, Grant bumped into an old friend who had previously worked with one of our clients, Rickshaw Travel. As it turned out, she was on the lookout for a new role – and we were looking for a Digital Marketing Manager.

After a coffee and a short conversation Creative Blend had a new Digital Marketing Manager – providing much needed grounding for the brand moving forward.

2019

In the Press – Recognised for Our Values

As our partnerships with charities grew, so did awareness of our approach. Creative Blend earned a feature as an “Ethical Agency” in the local press (we even made it into SBT and The Argus). It was a proud moment for us – and a reminder that doing good can go hand-in-hand with doing good work.

Welcoming family to Creative Blend

From 2019 to 2021, as the agency continued to grow, we wanted to strengthen our development services. We needed someone who was calm under pressure, great with people, and a natural problem-solver. Grant knew just the person: his younger cousin, Jason.

2022

Back to Our Roots – A New Office in Central Brighton

After nearly a decade in our Hove office, it felt like the right time for a change. So we packed up and moved back to where it all began – central Brighton. Our new home on Black Lion Street is just a stone’s throw from the original agency where Grant first planted the seeds of Creative Blend. It feels like coming full circle.

And the Story Continues…

From a single idea in 2012 to a growing agency rooted in purpose, Creative Blend has always believed in blending good business with doing good.

We’re delighted to still be delivering outstanding results for our clients – reflected in our 5-star Google Review rating and the fact that over half of our clients have been with us since 2022 or earlier (with one partnership going all the way back to 2016!). And as of 2025, we’ve officially delivered over 2,000 hours of FREE support through the Creative Blend Charity Commitment – something we’re truly thrilled to keep growing.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come – and even more excited for what lies ahead. We’ll keep delivering outstanding work for our clients while expanding our impact in the charity sector, offering even more free support and guidance to those who need it most. Whilst continuing to build an incredible team of expert, passionate and dedicated people – driven by purpose, united by values, and ready to make an even greater difference.
