The Long-Term Care and Seniors Ministry equips churches and volunteers to support seniors across Canada through friendship, practical support, and spiritual care—whether in long-term care facilities, retirement homes, or aging in place.
Connecting Streams envisions a future where no senior feels alone or overlooked, and where the love of Jesus brings transformation and hope to seniors, caregivers, volunteers, and churches alike.

Discover the truth about engaging with the elderly by debunking common myths. Seniors deeply value spiritual discussions, disproving the idea that they can’t grasp the Gospel.
Their rich life experiences provide inspiration and guidance for all. Despite challenges like mobility or cognition, seniors are resilient and eager to participate in communal activities with thoughtful support.
Let’s embrace the wisdom and connection seniors bring to our communities and churches.

Join Connecting Streams’ Long-Term Care Seniors ministry to bring friendship, support and spiritual opportunities to those in LTC or aging in place.
Through personal visits, chapel services, or even a heartfelt card, we show seniors they are seen, heard, and valued.
These acts of love not only break down barriers but also create space for meaningful relationships and spiritual growth.
Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of our seniors, embodying Christ’s love in tangible ways.

During a hymn sing afternoon with the Romanian Baptist Church at Fountain View, I witnessed a beautiful moment. “June,” who usually sits hugging herself and rocking back and forth, danced to the hymn “Trust and Obey.” Her facial expression showed she was in a safe and happy place. I had never seen her do that before.
My meetings with Fellowship Baptist Church of Markham have been particularly fruitful. It is encouraging to see a church begin to awaken to the needs of the elderly.
The Director of Resident Programs at Fountain View wrote, “You provide such valuable services here.” This highlights the incredible value Christians can add to long-term care homes. Even though she is not a Christian, she sees the value in what we do.
Explore our Eldercare Caring Conversations series, covering caregiving, grandparents, ageism in the church, dementia, and life reviews. These recorded Zoom events offer valuable insights and practical advice for those involved in elder care. Watch now to enhance your caregiving journey.
