The Department of Economic Informatics and Cybernetics, Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration from Babes-Bolyai University with the Romanian Association for Informatics in Economy Training Promotion – INFOREC, organize The 25th International Conference on Informatics in Economy (IE 2026), under the scientific auspices of the Information Science and Technology Section of The Romanian Academy.
The International Conference on Informatics in Economy is one of the first scientific events on this subject in Romania and during the last years has gained international scientific recognition. At the national level, it remains one of the most important scientific events that gather the entire Romanian Economic Informatics community. The goal of this conference is to bring international authors together with local authors in important fields.

Invited Speakers

University of Seville, Spain
Dr. Pedro Palos is a Full Professor in the Department of Financial Economics and Operations Management at the University of Seville, where he also serves as Vice-Dean for Mobility and International Relations. He holds degrees in Information Systems Engineering and Market Research, an MBA, a Master’s in Education and ICT, and a PhD in Business Economics. His research focuses on the digital economy, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, technology adoption, and technological entrepreneurship. He has an extensive academic output, including 4 books, 2 monographs, 23 book chapters, and over 100 scientific publications across high-impact journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. He has supervised multiple doctoral theses and received numerous awards for research excellence, teaching, and scientific reviewing. In 2025, he was recognized among the top 2% of researchers worldwide in Business & Management and Artificial Intelligence according to Stanford’s global academic ranking.

KU Leuven, Belgium
Wouter Verbeke, Ph.D., is Professor of Decision Science at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven, Belgium. His research is situated in the field of data science for business decision-making and is driven by real-life applications in operations management, pricing, fraud and credit risk management. In 2014, he won the distinguished EURO award for best article published in the European Journal of Operational Research in the category ‘Innovative Applications of O.R. His work has been published in established international scientific journals such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering and European Journal of Operational Research. He has authored two books, entitled ‘Fraud Analytics Using Descriptive, Predictive & Social Network Techniques’ and ‘Profit-driven Business Analytics’, published by Wiley. He is a member of the editorial board of Decision Support Systems, Business Information Systems Engineering, Journal of Business Analytics and INFORMS Journal on Data Science.

The IE 2025 Conference Proceeding Volume will be sent to Clarivate Web of Science, Google Scholar, SCOPUS and RePEC for indexing. Some of the previous volumes are already present in these major indexes. The IE 2022 edition is indexed in Web of Science.
This conference proceedings will be sent for review to Springer and the accepted papers will be published in a separate conference proceedings by Springer.
Papers
All accepted papers of the conference will be published in Proceeding of the 25th International Conference on Informatics in Economy, Education, Research & Business Technologies. The conference volume will be indexed in RePEC.
In addition to publication in the conference proceedings, the authors of the conference papers will be invited to publish an extended format in thematic issues from several distinguished international, refereed journals in their respective topics:
