Programs
Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre is a multi-service agency providing accessible and innovative programming for community members in Toronto’s West End, including low-income children, youth and families, vulnerable adults and seniors.
Participants in CONC programs are new to Canada, learning English, members of families supported by a sole parent, navigating mental health and physical health challenges, struggling with substance abuse, underhoused and homeless, or otherwise living in circumstances that leave them vulnerable to poverty.
Each programming area operates year-round in the Christie Ossington Community through the support of local businesses, residents, schools and other social service agencies to provide essential support and opportunities.
The Nook
Children’s Program
Providing after school, summer, and special events programming for approximately 1,200 children each year from local low-income families who are often also new to Canada, learning English, supported by a sole parent and navigating social/behavioral challenges.
LOFT Kitchen Cafe Social Enterprise
LOFT Kitchen is CONC’s Social Enterprise. We reinvest our cafe and catering profits back into our community programming, meals for shelters, and employment training for those who face barriers in the labour market. Our mission is to build community and capacity through food.
George Chuvalo
Neighbourhood Centre
George Chuvalo Neighbourhood Centre is here to provide exceptional programming and help build community-based resources. The Centre has a special focus on children, youth, families and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and is home to LOFT Kitchen Café and The Nook Children’s Program.
Breaking Barriers
An Integrated approach to service delivery across our shelter, housing and drop-in programs.
CONC’s Shelter and Housing Programs and our Drop-In & Food Access Program work in close collaboration to provide targeted supports that assist program participants and shelter residents to take steps toward better health, security and sustainability.
Drop-In & Food Access
Providing healthy meals, phone, fax and internet access, informative and skill-based workshops, shower and laundry facilities and personal support for thousands each year in the Christie Ossington community. The Drop-In Program is also the first point of access for over 700 volunteers each year, many of whom are new to Canada, learning English and seeking accessible community connections.
Shelter & Housing
Providing overnight shelter and supporting the well-being of folks in Toronto experiencing homelessness in Toronto’s west end.
