its funny how at a time when i feel so alone in this world, that the person i find the most comfort in, is brand new to my life. i speak without being judged, or put under a microscope to be dissected. the layers are slowly coming off, piece by piece... and it feels so.. wonderful, for i have not been able to talk to someone this openly in a very long time.  i feel truly blessed, and i was able to feel happiness for the first time in a very long time.

I Slept At Your Feet

We were up late.
You were talking to friends,
but I was so sleepy.
Not wanting to leave you,
I slept at your feet.
Like a child who needs a security blanket,
I curled my body around your legs.
Your boot,
which I would gladly be under,
became my pillow.
There I found comfort.
Asleep on the floor,
I felt no humiliation.
I did not feel objectified
by being on the ground beneath you.
I felt safe and secure,
you were there to watch over me.
