What I believe are the ingredients of a true Dominant;
ACCEPTANCE of self and your subs limitations.
The ability to COMMUNICATE your needs, wants, desires, fears, thoughts, limits, and the ability to maintain communication throughout the relationship.
COMPASSION, without it, you are not a Dominant, only a sadist.
COURTESY, being a Dominant does not give you the right to be rude or cruel.
To carry yourself with GRACE and with style.
HONESTY, a true Dominant does not need to lie or attempt to deceive. It is the basis of TRUST and without trust, there is no D/s relationship.
The real difference between a Dominant and a Bully is HUMILITY. The ability to see yourself as fallible.
Remain true to your agreement between yourself and your sub, exhibit LOYALTY.
A good Dominant has the ability to wait for things to bloom in a sub and is not pushy, a good Dominant shows PATIENCE.
The ability to take PRIDE in your capacities as a Dominant, but not be close minded or arrogant.
Give RESPECT at all times and you will earn it for yourself from your peers.
Take RESPONSIBILITY for your own actions for you are responsible for the well-being of your sub.
A true Dominant will maintain SELF CONTROL at all times.
A true Dominant will have SELF RESPECT and a solid sense of self-worth.
These traits are what I strive to live by and truly believe that all TRUE DOMINANTS should as well.
