The CARM shared collection is a significant collection of last copy published materials with research value from our member libraries.

What we do

We collaborate and engage with our members, non-member institutions, industry partners, and thought leaders through various services. Our initiatives provide collective benefits and create professional networks to promote growth and innovation in the sector.

Storage

The CARM (CAVAL Archival and Research Materials) Centre is a specialised storage facility offering flexible options for collection management, shelving, and curatorial access.

Shared Collection

Our members’ last copy shared collection lives in CARM for preservation and ease of access by scholars.

Reciprocal Borrowing

Students and staff from participating institutions can register for a CAVAL card to borrow material on-site from other participating libraries.

Language Resources

We source and catalogue materials in community languages worldwide, curate collections and customise them to local specifications before delivering them shelf-ready to libraries. 

Cataloguing & Metadata

Our highly skilled and experienced metadata experts approach projects with the utmost sensitivity, professionalism, and expertise. 

Mentoring Program

Tailor-made, fully facilitated program that connects, supports, and develops mentors and mentees through a sophisticated matching process and curated activities. 

Professional Development & Networking

Bespoke programs, conferences, webinars, communities of practice, and other capability-building activities curated and presented by our interest groups. 

Digital Platforms

Provides helpdesk and systems support for industry-leading digital products and platforms.
