I’m many things. Let’s start with a big one: I’m a Native Seattleite born in Rhode Island.
Career-wise, a huge chunk of my career has been spent as an administrative and executive assistant. I love technology and innovation. I guess I’m a tech-savvy admin.
I spent the pandemic earning an Associate of Technical Arts in Web Application and Cloud Development. My plan was to move into webdev roles after finishing that ATA. But I finished it right as major companies (Microsoft, Google, etc) started laying off software/web developers en masse. So, I found myself doing some network administration and AV support. I do get to do some web work. Right now, it’s mostly WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace support. I appreciate the web dev work, but I am working on getting fully into the Web Dev space. While working on that degree, I also studied desktop support and took a few classes on Cisco networking (almost ready to take the CCNA). The purpose of those classes was to deepen my insights into the structure of the web and the internet. But they also turned out to be very helpful in keeping me employed. I built database systems, including Access, MySQL, and SQL Server. Though this, I discovered that I believe SQL is a very cool language (and, yes, I’m acknowledging my nerdiness). I think data and data systems are both pretty interesting, and a significant part of the future.
I love geeky things and geek culture, including comics, scifi, anime, and fantasy.
