The Kuala Besut Jetty is the official jetty servicing Perhentian Island, and such is where we have our official BuBu Meet & Greet Office. Our office is located in the heart of the town, and is just a couple minutes’ walk to the jetty, and provides guests with a comfortable resting place and a place to keep your luggage before boarding our boat to the island.
There’s plenty of secure parkings just around the jetty area just in case you’re driving to Pulau Besut.

All guests are required to pay a jetty fee of MYR 20.00 per person, imposed by the state government at Besut Waterfront Jetty upon arrival, which supports island cleanliness and waste management, maintenance of public facilities, and the development of tourism infrastructure.

In conjunction with the government’s efforts to conserve marine life, a Marine Park Conservation Fee has been imposed to support the management and maintenance of the Perhentian Island Marine Park, ensuring better facilities and convenience for visitors while contributing to coral reef conservation, protection of marine life, and overall marine park management.

Let BuBu’s private speed boat whisk you the 30 minutes across the South China Sea to magical Perhentian Island! Located off the north-east coast of peninsula Malaysia, BuBu is accessible from the small fishing town of Kuala Besut.
Situated between Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu; the state capitals of Kelantan and Terengganu respectfully, Kuala Besut is a charming town in its own right, with murals and wooden houses; but it is best known as the gateway to Perhentian Island.
Best accessed from Kota Bharu airport, with Kuala Terengganu airport twice the distance, we can arrange your own private luxury transfer in our dedicated Toyota Velfire from either airport to our Meet & Greet office in Kuala Besut. Alternatively, you can book individual seats in our scheduled coach shuttles. Please find prices and schedules below.
Additionally, Kuala Besut is accessible via train: Tanah Merah Train Station; and by bus: Kuala Besut & Jerteh bus stations.
