Borderless is a founder-led user experience and web design agency run by Sarah Rothwell — a Humanity Computer Interaction (HCI) practitioner and fractional UX director.
Sarah partners with organisations that want clarity and momentum in their digital work, without the overhead of a full-time UX lead. As a fractional UX director, she provides strategic direction across research, design and delivery — aligning user needs, business goals and technical realities to help teams make better decisions, faster.
Her work is grounded in evidence, collaboration and a deep belief that great digital experiences should feel effortless. Sarah brings structure to complexity, asks the uncomfortable questions (kindly), and keeps projects moving with calm, focus and intent.
Sarah’s passion of digital design began many moons ago, with her BBC Micro computer and some ski pants back in the late 80s. Since then she has worked with some of the world’s leading charities, financial institutions, and businesses alongside some inspirational independents.
With a background spanning strategy, brand, design and accessibility, Sarah is a sharp problem-solver with strong commercial instinct. She holds an MSc in User Experience Design from Brighton University and has worked with leading charities, financial institutions and purpose-driven organisations.
