What is BEF?

BEF was set up as an independent and autonomous organization in 1994 through the Act of Provincial Assembly with the aim to improve the state of education in the province. BEF is a rapidly growing development organization which aims to bring lasting solutions in the Education sector through public-private and community partnership models.

Increased Enrollment, improved retention, high Completion and Transition with special focus on girls participation through Public-Private Partnership & Community Engagement.

To make a concerted effort towards provision of quality education up to the secondary level with the assistance of the private and non-government sector.

Province-Wide Strategic Initiative, Bringing Over 144,475 Out of school Children into Schools Across Balochistan.

In response to the special directions of the Chief Secretary Balochistan and in alignment with the Government of Balochistan School Education Department’s commitment to addressing the challenge of out-of-school children, the Balochistan Education Foundation (BEF) launched a strategic province-wide initiative aimed at identifying, enrolling, and supporting children who remain outside the formal education system. This initiative reflects BEF’s long-standing mission of expanding educational access through innovative public-private and community partnership models across the province.

COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

The organization has significantly expanded access to education across all 36 districts. Initially, 690 Community Schools (CSs) were established, enrolling over 32,681 students and engaging 1020 teachers.

Building on this achievement, 2,100 additional schools have been established under the Strategic Project Initiative, enrolling 144,475 students and employing 2,475 teachers.

Cumulatively, a total of 2,790 schools have been established, benefiting more than 177,156 students and supported by 3,495 teachers, reflecting a strong commitment to providing quality education in underserved communities.
