Conferences & Events

Core @ ALA Annual

ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition, the American Library Association's yearly conference and exhibition.

Interest Group Week

Interest Group Week happens the first full week of March each year and consists of 30+ discussions and programs over 5 days, all free and open to everyone.

Preservation Week

Focusing on preservation for a designated week every year raises awareness of the role libraries and other cultural institutions play in preservation, by sharing information to help make informed decisions that help your collections last for the future.

Core Forum

The Core Forum is the annual conference for ALA’s newest division, Core: Leadership, Infrastructures, Futures. It brings together decision-makers and practitioners from the ALA division that focuses on access and equity, buildings and operations, leadership and management, metadata and collections, preservation, and technology.

AvramCamp

Each year Core sponsors AvramCamp, a safe and welcoming space for women and non-binary technology library workers to explore common challenges faced, learn strategies for dealing with them, and discuss specific tools to build confidence, This one-day preconference, inspired by AdaCamp, takes place on Friday of the ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition.

Preservation in Action (PiA)

Preservation in Action (PiA) is a program sponsored by Core's Preservation Outreach Committee, in support of ALA's Libraries Transform initiative. The program is intended to promote an understanding of the importance of preservation while engaging with cultural heritage collections in ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition locations.
