Pledge 1%

Aerogen supports Pledge 1% – a global movement in corporate social responsibility.

Driving measurable social value across Aerogen’s global footprint

Pledge 1% is a global movement enabling companies to leverage 1% of their staff time, product, and profit to advance social good. As one of over 10,000 participating organisations worldwide, Aerogen uses this framework to embed long-term community investment into our culture and strategy.

Since launching Pledge 1%, Aerogen has donated €1.5 million in financial support and product to 106 charities across 14+ countries. In 2025 alone, we contributed €200,000 (in product and financial donations) and engaged 1,500+ employee volunteer hours to support global health, education, culture, and wellbeing.

Our programmes align directly with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 3, 4, 10, 11, 13) and operate under four social impact pillars: Health, Education, Arts & Community, and Sports & Wellbeing.

In December 2025 we were recognised by the Galway Chamber for our efforts, receiving the Community and Social Impact Award.

1. Health

Supporting better outcomes for patients and communities worldwide

Health is central to Aerogen’s mission. Through Pledge 1%, we expand our clinical impact by partnering with organisations that advance access, equity, and patient outcomes aligning our efforts with SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being.

SVP Higher Education Bursaries

In 2024, we entered a three-year partnership to fund the SVP Education and Training Bursary, designed to support learners of all ages who risk being excluded from third-level education due to financial constraints. The bursary provides assistance across all recognised third-level education and training programmes.

SVP direct-provision homework clubs

Aerogen supports the Croí na Gallimhe Resource Centre, a vital community hub in Galway City operated by the Society of St Vincent de Paul. The Centre engages over 400 people each week through education and social programmes. Our support strengthens the Centre’s Homework Clubs, which provide a safe, supportive after-school environment for primary school children, including those living in Direct Provision. The programme offers educational and language support, access to learning materials, and opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities that build confidence, skills, and social inclusion. Through this partnership, Aerogen helps ensure children from diverse backgrounds have equal opportunities to learn and thrive.

Empowering future innovators with the University of Galway

  • Aerogen partners with the University of Galway to strengthen educational opportunities and foster an inclusive culture of innovation. Through CreateHER, we help empower female undergraduate students by building confidence, leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Our partnership with IdeasLab, the university’s student innovation hub, further supports students in developing creative problem-solving abilities through hands-on learning and real-world challenges.

  • A key element of both initiatives is the active involvement of Aerogen employees, who volunteer their time, skills, and expertise to mentor, coach, and guide students. This engagement not only enhances the learning experience but also helps equip the next generation of innovators with the knowledge and confidence to thrive.

Global programmes

  • Aerogen supports the EU PASSworld Programme, which helps young refugees and asylum seekers build the skills and confidence needed to access meaningful employment. Since 2023, in addition to providing financial support, Aerogen has provided internships to four deserving participants, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills and gain hands-on experience within our industry. Through this partnership, we help create equitable pathways to education, training, and long-term employability.

  • Aerogen maintains an ongoing partnership with Trócaire to improve education opportunities for displaced and vulnerable communities. Through employee fundraising and company support, €22,000 was provided to construct two new classrooms and protective fencing at Dollow National School in Somalia, creating a safer and more accessible learning environment for children affected by conflict and displacement.

  • Aerogen provided financial support, scientific guidance, and curriculum development for Dr. Arzu Ari’s International Training Program, which delivers advanced aerosol therapy training to clinicians globally particularly in underserved countries.
