About DASEF (Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation)

CELEBRATING THIRTY- SIX YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

The Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation (DASEF) exists to inspire and educate the people of the Delaware Valley in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with academies, presentations, professional development, events, and activities and our new Delaware Discovery Center in Smyrna.

Since 1990, the objective of the DAA has been to provide hands-on training and experience in aerospace-related activities and fields. Throughout the week, cadets are continually challenged to think, design, solve, build, and work cooperatively. All academies are designed to integrate the study of STEM using Earth and Space education as the unifying framework.Dr. Stephanie M.G. Wright, President of the DASEF, heads the staff of the Academy. Talented experts in a cooperative learning experience supplement our excellent staff of teachers and young people. Lessons focus on applied learning through problem solving.  Students learn in small groups, emphasizing the teamwork necessary in the real world.

DASEF offers learning opportunities through school programs, field trips, educator workshops, library programs, community events, and summer academies.  DASEF programs compliment the STEM curriculum followed by the state of Delaware.  The DASEF campus, located at Big Oak Park in Smyrna, DE, is currently home to the Delaware Discovery Center, the Outpost and the Galaxy Garden.

DASEF’s vision is driven by the belief that "Wisdom Begins with Wonder." Capitalizing on natural curiosity, we provide activities that include a problem-solving component that enriches the applied learning process for participants.

Your contribution (via winning bid or monetary donation) will help us in continuing to cover operating expenses and implementing our school and community programs, events, academies, and workshops.   Our outreach activities and volunteer efforts help to enrich Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in K- College classrooms and for the general public.

Your auction bid/donation to DASEF will provide funding for us to continue to contribute to the academic development of students, educators and others through the delivery of these context-based activities consistent with current research and development.
