Had a lovely time at DMWCarols celebrating the solstice this morning - getting too old to be standing for half an hour though
(I am ill you know LOL) - nah, kidding aside, it was a splendid, followed by a beautifully cooked, sumptuous breakfast fit for royalty.
Thankyou Carol, we must do it again. xxx

Well it looks like it is MS although the neurosurgeon was hesitant to put it in her report as it was only the first occurance.

"Was" only the first occurance as two weeks ago tomorrow, about 2 mins after I got up my whole right side went into spasm/cramp.

That was Monday morning. The same happened on Tuesday morning and we thought it may have been me getting up too quickly.

Wednesday I got up slowly and managed to get downstairs to the loo before I spazzed. Phoned doctor in Peterborough and was told to phone following morning at 8am as they only did appointments on the day... great!

Phoned surgery at 8, finally got through after countless engaged tones, got appointment to see doc in the afternoon. Spasmed for a secondtime Thurs morning, then a third... deffo getting worse. Doc prescribed Carbamazapine 100mg. One tab 2x a day to be adjusted if it works/doesn't. Spazzed a fourth time on Thursday after starting course so increased to 3 tabs a day.

Been ok since.

Reality slowly getting back to normality, for varying degrees of said normality :-)
Having spent almost two weeks in hospital having MRI and lumbar puncture to find out why my pelvis had gone numb, and my legs from the knees down had permanent pins and needles, I can now - thanks to the wonder that is high dose steroid treatment - start to strengthen the muscles in my legs.
Never thought it would be so hard to go up stairs LOL
Just another week to wait for the proteins checks on my spinal fluid to come back... checking for MS
