WASHINGTON (TND) — Sinclair Broadcast Group is teaming up with the American Red Cross to help provide much needed relief to those impacted by deadly tornadoes across the American South and Midwest. Sinclair Cares: Tornado Relief is a campaign designed to help victims in multiple states where tornadoes killed at least 88 people — 74 of them in Kentucky. The devastation has put the Red Cross on high alert as it is facing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group is partnering with the American Red Cross for their "Sinclair Cares: Roll Up Your Sleeves" blood drive to combat the massive blood shortage. While there is typically a decline in blood donations during the summer months, there is, currently, a significant increase in the need for blood because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
