I did it…
I opened my pink binder and took a pencil to the first dozen pages! I didn’t get much done because I had to keep skipping through pages to make sure that information I had run with in those final days matched that which I had started with… and, I had to change much of the wording in the Prologue because of the character pleading for his life to be spared.
It actually felt good when I finally got to it. Even though I know it’s almost 51,000 words my other novels have usually filled between 175-180 pages and this one is at 212 which tells me there is a lot of single lines including short dialogue. It’s just a lot more paper than I’m accustomed to during the editing process so it feels like a daunting process!
The bottom line is… it’s started and, if I can continue consistently then it won’t be long before I have my first edited draft of my newest untitled work because the title will also have to be created, but that’s another blog post!
I’m late today despite it being a day off… it took me some time to get moving because everything hurt and then I had to run a few errands before finally settling in with reruns of Bones and my manuscript. This Saturday is my last again until the middle of July with a week off coming up as well… that, my friends, is LONG overdue and beyond welcome!
Until tomorrow… keep writing!
