Product Audit
You’re too close to your own product to see what’s holding it back. We’re not. After 15+ years reviewing, testing, and writing about WordPress products, we know what makes one stand out and what quietly kills conversions, retention, and word-of-mouth.
01
You’ve built it. But does it stand out?
The WordPress plugin market is crowded. Most products that struggle don’t have a quality problem, they have a clarity problem. Unclear positioning, a confusing onboarding experience, or pricing that doesn’t match how buyers think. They’re all fixable, but only if someone points them out.
02
User feedback only tells you so much
Your users tell you what’s broken. They rarely tell you what’s merely average, what a competitor does better, or why a potential buyer clicked away from your pricing page. That’s the gap this service fills — the honest, outside perspective that’s almost impossible to get from your own community.
03
Most advisors don’t know this ecosystem.
General product consultants give you frameworks, but they can’t give you is 15+ years of hands-on experience building, reviewing, and writing about WordPress products. The nuances of this market like how buyers think and how people will use your product is the knowledge you’re paying for.
04
Actionable, not academic.
You won’t receive a vague scorecard or a list of best practices you already know. Every finding comes with a specific recommendation like what to change, why it matters, and what good looks like. The deliverable is designed to be actioned immediately, not filed away.

Book and brief us
Choose your tier, pay, and fill in a short form with your product details, what you’re most concerned about, and any context that will help us focus the analysis.
02
We go deep
We spend several days researching, testing, and stress-testing your product — buying it, installing it, comparing it, and documenting everything we find.
03
You receive the findings
We deliver the video walkthrough and written summary. Clear, specific, and prioritised, not just a list of vague observations but concrete things to act on.

Typical turnaround is 10–15 business days from brief confirmation. Opportunity Analysis projects are limited to 2 per month.
I’ve been in the WordPress ecosystem for over 11 years, as a publisher, a product builder, and someone who has reviewed, tested, and written about hundreds of plugins and tools. I run WP Mayor and RebelCode, the company behind WP RSS Aggregator and Spotlight Instagram Feeds, which have over 110,000 active installs combined.
That background means I look at your product from multiple angles at once: as a reviewer who knows what makes a plugin worth recommending, as a product builder who understands the constraints you’re working with, and as someone who has watched this market evolve and knows what buyers actually care about today.
I take on a limited number of these projects each month so I can give each one the attention it deserves. This isn’t a template exercise. Every analysis is done by me, personally.
A focused expert review of your WordPress product covering competitive positioning, messaging, pricing, onboarding, and first impressions. Delivered as a video walkthrough and written summary with specific, prioritised recommendations. Designed for products that are early-stage or not yet seeing the traction they should.
Your users tell you what’s broken after they’re already using your product. This analysis tells you why potential buyers don’t convert, how you compare to competitors, and what an experienced user would say if they were reviewing your plugin, before they ever become a customer.
Typically 10–15 business days from when we receive your brief. The Opportunity Analysis takes slightly longer due to its three-phase scope. If you have a deadline in mind, mention it when you book and we’ll let you know if we can accommodate it.
For a realistic assessment, we purchase or install your product as a real user would. For premium plugins, we will ask for a 100% off coupon code. This will give us a more authentic first-run experience than a backdoor admin install would, since we’ll go through the entire process.
A screen-recorded session where we walk through findings in context, showing you what we’re seeing as we click through your product, your competitors, and your marketing pages. Delivered privately so you can share it with your team and revisit it as needed.
Primarily WordPress plugins, but we can cover themes and WordPress-adjacent SaaS products too. If you’re unsure whether your product is a good fit, book a free 20-minute call and we’ll be straight with you.
Yes, and we encourage it for the Opportunity Analysis in particular. Book a free 20-minute call and we’ll discuss your product, what you’re hoping to get out of the analysis, and whether it’s the right fit. No obligation.
We don’t offer refunds once work has begun. Given the time investment involved in each analysis, we ask that you’re confident before booking. The free consultation call is the right place to resolve any doubts beforehand.
