20 Best Gutenberg Block Plugins for WordPress

WordPress introduced the Gutenberg editor to provide a more modern and flexible way of creating content. Instead of the classic editor interface, Gutenberg uses a block-based editing system where every piece of content such as paragraphs, images, headings, and buttons is added as a block.

This block-based approach makes it easier to build structured content and design pages directly inside the WordPress editor. You can simply add, arrange, and customize blocks to create layouts without needing shortcodes or external page builders.

While the default Gutenberg editor already includes several useful blocks like paragraphs, headings, images, columns, quotes, and galleries, its capabilities can be extended even further with Gutenberg block plugins. These plugins introduce additional blocks and features that help you create more advanced layouts, interactive elements, and visually engaging content.

In this article, we’ll explore 20 of the best Gutenberg block plugins that can extend the functionality of the WordPress block editor and help you build more powerful and flexible websites.

Toolset Blocks is a Gutenberg plugin designed for building dynamic WordPress websites without writing code. It allows you to create pages and templates that automatically pull content from custom fields, posts, or other dynamic sources.

Dynamic content means that the information displayed on a page changes based on the specific post or entry being viewed. For example, if you create pages for different travel destinations, each page can automatically display its own title, images, and details instead of showing the same static content everywhere.

Toolset Blocks provides a collection of dynamic-ready blocks that help you build custom templates and display structured data directly inside the Gutenberg editor.

Some of the blocks available in Toolset Blocks include:

  • Heading

  • Image

Toolset Blocks is particularly useful for building dynamic websites such as directories, listings, membership sites, or custom content-driven platforms using the Gutenberg editor.

Specialized Gutenberg Block Plugins

While all-in-one block libraries add dozens of blocks to the editor, specialized Gutenberg plugins focus on solving specific problems. Instead of providing a large collection of blocks, these plugins usually introduce one or a few highly focused blocks designed for a particular feature such as tables, sliders, galleries, post layouts, popups, or maps.

These plugins are useful when you only need a specific type of functionality and don’t want to install a large block suite. They allow you to extend the Gutenberg editor with targeted features while keeping your site lightweight.

The plugin provides several blocks that allow you to showcase posts in different layouts while giving you full control over styling, spacing, and display settings. It also includes a collection of pre-designed templates that you can import and customize to quickly build attractive post sections.

Some of the blocks available in PostX include:

  • Post Module
  • Post Grid
  • Post List
  • Post Slider
  • Heading
  • Image
  • Wrapper

One of the key features of PostX is its dynamic query builder, which allows you to control which posts appear in your layouts based on categories, tags, authors, or other criteria. The plugin also includes Ajax-powered filtering, enabling visitors to filter posts without reloading the page.

PostX offers both free and premium versions. The premium version starts at $49 per year for a single-site license and includes additional features, templates, and customization options.

2. Tableberg

Tableberg is a Gutenberg table builder plugin that helps you create responsive and customizable tables directly inside the WordPress block editor. Unlike the default table block in WordPress, Tableberg provides additional layout and styling options that make it easier to build structured and visually appealing tables.

The plugin allows you to add different types of content inside table cells, including text, images, buttons, lists, and icons. This makes it useful for creating comparison tables, product feature tables, pricing tables, and other structured content commonly used on blogs and business websites.

Tableberg also includes customization options such as adjustable columns and rows, cell styling controls, responsive settings, and sorting capabilities to help you design tables that fit your website layout.

Because it works entirely within the Gutenberg editor, you can build and edit tables visually without relying on shortcodes or external table builders.

3. Sliderberg

Sliderberg is a Gutenberg slider plugin that allows you to create sliders and carousels directly inside the WordPress block editor. Unlike many traditional slider plugins that rely on shortcodes or separate interfaces, Sliderberg works entirely within Gutenberg, making it easy to build sliders using the blocks you already use.

One of the standout features of Sliderberg is its ability to slide almost any type of block. You can add images, text, buttons, testimonials, or even groups of blocks and turn them into interactive sliders without leaving the editor.

The plugin supports both slider and carousel layouts, allowing you to showcase content in different formats. It is also fully responsive, ensuring your sliders look good on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

Sliderberg is designed to be lightweight and easy to use, helping you create hero sections, testimonial sliders, product showcases, and logo carousels without slowing down your website. The plugin is available for free and integrates seamlessly with the Gutenberg editor.

Galleryberg also includes a built-in responsive lightbox, allowing visitors to view images in a larger format without leaving the page. In addition, the plugin provides simple customization controls such as column adjustments, spacing, borders, and captions so you can fine-tune the appearance of your galleries.

Designed to be lightweight and performance-focused, Galleryberg integrates seamlessly with the Gutenberg editor and ensures that your image galleries load quickly across all devices.

The plugin is completely free and available to download from the WordPress plugin repository.

5. ConvertForce

ConvertForce is a Gutenberg-based popup builder plugin that allows you to create popups, slide-ins, banners, and sticky bars directly inside the WordPress block editor. Instead of using shortcodes or separate popup builders, ConvertForce lets you design your campaigns visually using the same blocks you use when building pages.

With ConvertForce, you can create email opt-in forms, promotional offers, announcements, and other conversion-focused elements using native Gutenberg blocks such as buttons, images, headings, and forms. This makes it easy to design popups that match the style of your website.

The plugin is designed to work seamlessly within the Gutenberg editor, giving you a simple and flexible way to add lead capture and promotional popups without relying on external page builders or complex tools.

6. Map Block for Google Maps

Google Maps Gutenberg Block by WebFactory is a simple plugin that adds a dedicated Google Maps block to the WordPress block editor. It allows you to easily embed interactive maps into your posts and pages without installing a large block library.

The plugin focuses on doing one thing well—adding maps inside the Gutenberg editor. Once installed, you can insert a map block, enter the location you want to display, and quickly embed it into your content.

Because the plugin only provides a single block, it keeps your editor lightweight and avoids adding unnecessary features. This makes it a good option if you only need a map block without installing a larger Gutenberg block collection.

The plugin is free and works seamlessly with the native WordPress block editor.

7. OpinionCamp

OpinionCamp is a Gutenberg plugin that allows you to add interactive polls and opinion-based content directly inside the WordPress block editor. It helps you collect feedback, run quick surveys, and encourage visitor engagement without relying on external polling tools.

These polls can be easily inserted into posts or pages, making them useful for blogs, news websites, communities, and content-driven platforms that want to involve readers in discussions.

Conclusion

Gutenberg has evolved significantly over the years, and today it’s powerful enough to build complete websites without relying on traditional page builders. With the help of the right block plugins, you can extend the default editor and create everything from simple blog posts to complex layouts, dynamic content sections, and interactive elements.

In this article, we explored two types of Gutenberg plugins: all-in-one block libraries that add a wide range of blocks for building pages and layouts, and specialized plugins that focus on specific features such as tables, sliders, galleries, post layouts, maps, and popups.

The right plugin for you ultimately depends on what you want to build. If you need a large collection of blocks to design entire pages, an all-in-one block library may be the best choice. On the other hand, if you only need a specific feature like a slider, table builder, or popup system, a specialized plugin can help you add that functionality without installing a large block suite.

Whichever option you choose, Gutenberg block plugins can significantly improve your workflow and help you create more engaging and functional WordPress websites.
