Federated Wireless Enables High-Power 6 GHz Operation with GVP Device Support
Federated Wireless announced it will extend its Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) platform to support Geofenced Variable Power (GVP) devices in the 6 GHz band, following the FCC’s recent approval of this new category of unlicensed equipment. This expansion will allow device manufacturers and network operators to deploy mobile and portable 6 GHz systems at higher power levels — indoors and outdoors — within defined geographic areas, while protecting existing licensed services and enabling next-generation applications such as AR/VR, advanced IoT, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The U.S. Marine Corps has granted an Authority to Operate for the first fully on-premises 5G Private Infrastructure Network in the Department of War, deployed at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany through a contract with Federated Wireless and its partners JMA Wireless and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The network enables industrial automation capabilities such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, and AI-driven logistics to enhance military readiness and sustainment.
