I’m Iman.
CV here.
I am doing did a double major at SUT in Physics and Computer Engineering. Now I am PhD student studying Computer Science at New York University.
I am a gold medalist at the National Physics Olympiad an I am was (until I moved to USA to do a PhD) a member of the National Elites Foundation.
I love Mathematics, I love Physics and I love Computers (not just Computer Science, but Computers!). As a kid I was really fascinated with these “wonders” and I vowed to understand how they work! I was specifically amazed at graphics cards, and I used to drool at the sight of those shiny beautiful magical machines which rendered computer games (which I enjoyed). So that fascination lives on to this day, having spent a lot time studying and learning about these machines, when I watch my CUDA code in action (or playing!) I feel a great sense of wonder and excitement. Summer 2022 I did an internship at NVIDIA in the HPC Compilers team, working on GPU performance & it only made me more excited about GPUs!
So during my adventures I ended up studying physics very seriously in high school, and that entailed me to study mathematics very seriously as well, and I enjoyed it so much that I even contemplated studying (only) mathematics in university. (I still recall the sense of euphoria and joy when I grasped how Galois proved that the quintic doesn’t admit a general solution.) And that rounds it up I guess.. Math, Physics and Computers.
And yes, I do run on coffee and pizza.
