About

Before joining Autodesk, I was the lead designer, Vault Administrator and CAD department supervisor at Powell Fabrication & Manufacturing in St. Louis, Michigan. I have been a mechanical designer and drafter for more than 20 years, using Autodesk products for most of that time. I was inducted into the first class of Autodesk Expert Elites at Autodesk University 2012 and have been active on the Autodesk discussion forums and social media. During this time I also started my CAD Tips, Tricks & Workarounds blog. I have been a speaker at Autodesk University since 2014, including a trip to Moscow to speak at AU Russia. I have been active in both the Inventor and Vault Beta programs, and have actively worked with those product teams to improve and troubleshoot those programs. I also have regularly used AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, and have some experience with AutoCAD P&ID, Fusion 360, 3ds Max and Interactive. Outside of my CAD work and Community involvement, I am also an amateur photographer and photo artist, and I enjoy reading, music and singing.

  1. Hi Chris.
I have seen your AU course MFG316919
And have a couple of questions I need your input on how to optimize our ECR process as at the moment is quite tedious and manual. This includes the complete process from users, lists, ECR flow and even if possible have the ECR number generated from an external system (Our ERP system)
Can you please get ahold of me, or point in a direction of someone I can talk to.

    Kind regards
    Pieter

    1. Hi Pieter, thanks for reaching out. Do you work with a reseller, or have one nearby that you could contact? This type of optimization sounds like something that you may need some outside help with. Help which is beyond my meager skills. You could also post some questions in the Vault forum, and get some ideas from the Vault Community: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-forum/bd-p/101
or, join our new Facebook Vault group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/autodeskvaultproducts

      Good luck to you sir!
