I believe in the One true and living God, the Creator of the vast universe and all things visible and invisible, and the Savior of the church; who reveals himself in triunity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I believe that Jesus the Word exists eternally as God; that the Word descended to earth, became human flesh, walked among men, was crucified, buried and resurrected in real space-time history; that he ascended into heaven that he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords; that he will return to judge the living and the dead, and that he will gather all his saints to himself forever.

I believe the Holy Spirit is personal-infinite God; that he is active in the world to convict sinners of guilt and to call them by grace to Christ; that he is present in the church which is his temple; that he is the seal of redemption that guarantees salvation to the saints; that he works to sanctify body, soul, and spirit; that he indwells every christian to comfort them in trial, and to conform them to the image of Christ, to enlighten the mind and empower the soul.

I believe in the grace and truth of Jesus Christ, revealed by the Holy Spirit to the holy apostles and prophets, and written in the sacred text of scripture; that the canon of scripture is the inspired revelation of the mind of God, and that the sum of the word of God is the truth.

I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return with the saints and angels to judge the living and the dead; that the righteous dead will be resurrected to eternal life and the wicked dead will be raised to eternal condemnation; that the righteous who are living will be transformed and received up into the eternal presence of Christ and the wicked who are living will be cast down into eternal separation fom him.

I believe that man was created to be good and free, being made in the image of God, yet through rebellion has become morally sinful, being radically corrupted by sin and death; that man enjoys freedom and dignity in his natural, creaturely existence, yet suffers bondage and guilt in his moral, spiritual experience, and therefore, desperately needs salvation.

I believe in one body, one Spirit, one hope; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

I believe in One, holy, universal, gospel-shaped, church of God in Christ, always reforming and renewing; that the church exists for the praise of God’s glorious grace; that she is our spiritual mother to nurture God’s children; that she is the bride of Christ to display the pure love of God; that she is the living temple of God to gather the saints for worship; that she is the incarnate body of Christ in the world; and the victorious army of God to conquer spiritual forces of evil.

I believe the word of the cross is the gospel, the wisdom and power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; that salvation is the free gift of God received by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ; and that salvation is available only through Jesus of Nazareth, the Lord and Savior.

I believe that the gospel constitutes a new covenant of love between Christ and the church; that the signs of that covenant are water-baptism and communion; that all believers must bear these signs in their lives, or else be cut off from the covenant; therefore, all believers must connect with the cross of Christ at baptism, and commune with the body and blood of Christ at the Table.

I believe the present heavens and earth will be engulfed by fire and purged of sin to make way for the new heavens and earth, the eternal home of righteousness; that the world of first-order things will be released from bondage to decay and resurrected for eternal glory.
