Workshops
- snapshot workshop: introductory 3 – 4 hour workshop to provide an overview of the approach.
- access workshops are in-depth 15 hour workshops, generally spread over a number of weeks, designed for those with relatively little experience. Access workshops include the 3 hour Snapshot and then 12 hours of Access topics.
- targeted workshops are a series of 90 – 120 minute workshops, each on a specific topic. They are designed for those with some experience who want to consolidate their understanding in focused areas. Each workshop can be spread over two sessions.
- extension, or digging deeper, workshops are designed for those with experience and prior training, practitioners keen to take this approach to the next level
- custom-designed workshops are developed in conjunction with a school or organization to fit particular needs.

I began my teaching career in Australia and have worked in international schools since 1992. This has given me a strong understanding of a range of curriculum approaches. I am able to support a modification of current practice to move towards more systematic and explicit teaching of foundational skills as well as a more inquiry-based investigation of words.

Curriculum and Assessment documentation
This generally follows teacher training, however if your school already utilizes the Word Inquiry approach and would like expectations reflected in curriculum documentation, this can be arranged.
We have developed a very clearly articulated curriculum that is organised by conceptual understandings. It designated specific knowledge and skills to be studied at each grade level.
Assessments that check for students’ growing knowledge and skills are linked to the curriculum outcomes.
Online or Face to Face Professional Learning
Professional learning is now easily accessible in a number of ways. I work directly with many schools but also offer workshops open the the general public. Via an online platform, I run workshops through Zoom but also have a number of self-paced on demand workshops accessible via my Teachable platform.
