Fall’s return to, 

Tempestuous ocean. 

An aromatic, 

Balancing act. 

Pumpkin spice, 

Cinnoman, cloves, 

Float as —

Crumpled leaves falling, 

Waif thin, acrid. 

Blending with, 

Seaweed breeze. 

Crabs corpses. 

With sage, allspice,  

Aromas overcoming, 

Rot’s oder. 

With pleasurable scent —

Of apple pie. 

Vermilion coat skirted, 

Breath hanging,

Summer’s —

Candy- apple bikini, 

Forlorne.

Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt is to write, “an elevenie. An an eleven-word poem of five lines, with each line performing a specific task in the poem. The first line is one word, a noun. The second line is two words that explain what the noun in the first line does, the third line explains where the noun is in three words, the fourth line provides further explanation in four words, and the fifth line concludes with one word that sums up the feeling or result of the first line’s noun being what it is and where it is.”

The A to Z Challenge GoodRead’s prompt is for the letter T. Also thank you to NEKNEERAJ of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting last week’s photo challenge.

Deserted highway dusk. 

She fixes everything she’s —

Skilled.

Middle of countryside 

A giant needle weaves, 

Stitches.

Amidst winding roads, 

Fixing energies flow, she’s 

Wired.

Fixer, 

Forever career, 

Barren places found,

Mending for others but —

Forlorn.

In backpack, 

Town to Town, 

Igniting power’s wicked spark, 

Gone.

Hitchhiker, 

Purposeful steps, 

Melting snow puddles, 

Spring follows, winter mended, 

Warmth.

Stitching problems, 

Walks estranged roads, 

Sewing all problems, she —

Disappears

Please don’t give me hope,

Don’t come into my life a moment,

Leaving me with expectations.

You think I’d know better,

Having experienced this situation often;

Expectations are dangerous, 

Few people in life meet them,

No matter how basic, 

The expectation maybe.

Don’t set me up to fall, 

To get sucked underwater,

You the undertow drowning my sorry soul.

Should’ve known better, 

You weren’t a genuine Pearl,

Should’ve known by now, 

Those who care for me, make time for me.

Should have known by now,

But you made me believe, 

This time you were for real.

Now I’m deflated, hurt, and frustrated.

What is it with you? 

 I can’t even expect you to be, 

A dependable friend?

No, of course not, the fault is mine.

I can put expectations on myself,

But never on you, never on anyone.

Just let the pixie dust and fairytales, 

Burn into the night, a haunting fire.

But hope is not destroyed, 

It only burns brighter in the flames warm.

Keep your hope and your dreams, 

 I live in the real world;

It hurts me, scars me, damages me.

You totalled the destruction.

Tomorrow I rebuild torn, 

But knowing, no man —

Can expect anything from me, until I say.

Right now my hope is crushed.

You taught me to be hopeless, 

Made me feel lost and forlorn.

For now, a true fact, hope is the bird I scorn, 

Tomorrow, hope has *feathers, and will be reborn.

The ebb and flow of life passing,

Each day new dreams aspiring,

Whimsical thoughts that seem,

Errant from the eye soft gleams.

I’ll get through this, though I feel stuck,

Each day, a rough ride but with luck,

Overcome the rising flow,

Water rising, as life firmly goes.

Dreamt that I could be so free, real —

Real things are worn, wrapped with feeling,

Not a problem being worn, forlorne;

Life isn’t perfect, sometimes you’re torn.

Mixing batter in the bowl, make —

Cake for whom can eat what I bake.

Nothing I make with two hands, tastes —

Worthy as freedom to be rates.
