Changing landscapes on the
soles of my feet transform
from natural feeling to
tingling pins and needles
to all white numbness.
They function as they always
have but feel rather strange
when elevated on bed or
footstool, even in hot weather.
For diabetes has left its
microscopic gravel particles
in my blood stream clogging
tiny veins in my furthest
extremities maybe to rip
and shred the tiniest veins.

I do hope you get them checked regularly. I’ve just been called in for my annual ultrasound of my feet and ankles. I used to have to remember to ask for one – and usually forgot. But my surgery seems to now be proactive.

My feet and ankles get checked manually once a year on my annual check up by the long term conditions nurse. I have a reminder on my patient’s reminder page to make the appointment each year. all very digital.
