Thanks for your suggestion. I am looking for a way to control the posts that are displayed in the sidebar (as on the right side of this page: http://www.dessign.net/verticaltheme/do-all-things/). The plugins you linked to seem only to generate a list of related posts rather than control the selection of those displayed in the sidebar. I am surprised that this is not a built-in feature and that I am having such difficulty in finding a solution.
