ps: it looks fixed because I had to register to FontAwesome service and add the script to the website again.

Most of application uses twitter callback address as websites homepage instead of wp-content/plugins/social-connect/twitter/callback.php.
So we need to create another Twitter application each time.
Please change the callback address.

I had experienced exactly the same problem as like as you. I had temporary solved it via editing post-thumbnail-template.php in wp-includes but i’m aware that it will overwritten in next update.
So how did you turned off non-ascii character support?
