You can get your Segment.io API key by signup up for a free account at https://segment.io and then just click WordPress in the setup guide!

Ian, co-founder of Segment.io here who wrote the WordPress plugin. Sorry for the confusion! I’m going to update the installation instructions to make it clearer.
To get Segment.io working, you need to insert your Segment.io API key, which you get when you create a free account at https://segment.io
Then in the Segment.io interface you can turn on Mixpanel, KISSmetrics, Google Analytics or any other analytics service you want. (That’s not in the WordPress interface, but in the Segment.io interface.)
