Any updates on this issue? Twenty-Twenty-Two works fine for me but Twenty-Three doesn’t reduce featured image size, even w/ the suggested code. And I can’t disable Gutenberg bc I need it for posts.
So I decided to try out putting a “allow all” on the .htaccess file for the subdomain (different WP install) to see if that would then allow for secure/ pw-protected pages, and it seems to be fine — and hasn’t impacted the IP “deny all” that I have to lockdown the main domain.
If you see any problems w/ that, please let me know. To further secure the subdomain, I added two-factor login for admin account.
I still don’t see why individual page logins should be mixed up with site user logins (since no user is required, just the pw) in WordPress.

Nope, thanks for the reply and clear explanation. I’m a business owner not a programmer, so I pick up tips on forums and guides and know how to apply them without understanding the structures and codes beneaht.

To clarify: .htaccess “deny all” also blocks page-level passwords.
I’m not sure why, because they do separate things. The point of a page-level password ought to be to allow page access to non-registered users (my clients) but not to random browsers, i.e., distinct from htaccess level IP blocking of user or admin-level logins.
I’ll leave this open for a little more in case someone else has any suggestions. Thanks for your reply!

For anyone else w/ a similar problem with Win Phone / Tablet not swiping or scrolling on a WordPress theme: Vlad resolved this by having me turn off the NiceScroll script, which he built into Customizer settings. Better, the code he posted above avoids the problem altogether, while allowing NiceScroll to work on other devices.

I see why you added nicescroll, though, as the page renders much better with it on. Any thoughts on disabling it just for windows phone/tablets (IE11)?

If you can think of a reason for that behavior (1st expander on page not working, others okay), please let me and anyone else who might encounter this problem know. Tks!
