Thank you, Patrick! I was hoping there is a way that doesn’t require custom code, but may need to try this if I cannot find another solution. I am still experimenting on how to achieve what I need, which is creating a new post from a form with a mix of standard and custom fields, and later on would need to allow users to edit already created posts. I am trying to avoid custom code for now, hoping I may find a plugin with more flexible posting functionality. I will try the above if I get stuck and need to rely on custom code anyway. Thank you so much for the example!
Wish: I hope you guys will make the Post Data functionality more flexible in future. Would be awesome if standard post fields like title, content etc, can be easily mapped from Forminator fields, just the way custom fields are now. It will definitely make a lot of sense, and would be awesome.
In any case I love Forminator, and thank you for the prompt response and help!

In reply to: [Crop-Thumbnails] No image sizes for cropping availableNumber one in your list was the culprit! I must have unchecked this a while ago, or perhaps it was never checked by default. How silly. Now that I checked “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions”, I see “thumbnail” listed as a crop format.
Thank you so much for helping me troubleshoot, and for creating this wonderful plugin. Happy New Year!

In reply to: [Crop-Thumbnails] No image sizes for cropping availableOne more question! So even if a theme does not have custom crop formats specified, shouldn’t I see at least the “thumbnail” format listed?
I did try changing the theme, even tried a standard one like “Twenty Twenty-One” and I never see any image formats besides the one I added manually with your code example. I expected I would see at least a standard format like “thumbnail” which is always defined by WP regardless of the theme. I am just trying to understand if something is still wrong with my setup, or the plugin works only with custom image formats.

In reply to: [Crop-Thumbnails] No image sizes for cropping availableThank you so much for the prompt response! When I added your code, I did see image-size-test listed. I set up my own new crop format, and then I was able to assign it to my blog’s feed featured images via the customizer.
Thank you so much for your help and this cool plugin!
Thank you Nastia @wpmudev-support9!
Happy to hear this will be included in the next version!
What you suggest for the dropdown only visually appears like a workaround. It is not a viable option, however, if we need a user to consciously select a required option. The custom option as you propose it, will validate as a selection, so the user can just bypass the required field without making any real selection.
Best,
RumiGreat, thanks @creativethemeshq!
Thanks for responding so quickly @creativethemeshq. I still don’t see the .12 update in my dashboard, but will update when it comes up.
BTW something not related to the error, but just wanted to mention it. It would be great if you include detailed information on your website about what exactly comes with the Companion plugin. “Extensions and a lot of other handy stuff” does not really sound too compelling. I was very hesitant about installing it for quite some time. Now even after installing it, I still don’t know what the “other handy stuff” are 🙂
Thanks a lot for all your work!
Thanks for sharing @raganation! I was silly enough to reactivate the plugin, just to see if it really is the culprit, and it sure broke all again, LOL. Now I replaced it as you have and it works fine. Thank you!
Yes, I check every next release with hope these known bugs will be fixed, and unfortunately so far there is nothing done on either of my requests. This one about the dropdown selecting the first option by default, which is a very unpleasant problem to deal with. And also the other issue of rendering form labels, where even simple characters like quotes are displayed as raw code.
@wpmudev-support2 is there an update in sight?
Thank you, Kasia! Look forward to hearing back.
Great to hear – thanks! Look forward to seeing the next release!
Section subtitles would show even quotes
