I figured it out. It was a file naming error. The file I received from one of our authors had some bad characters in the file name.
I added the code to the functions.php page after my defined function, and it didn’t work. I removed your code, and it did work. Of course though, the script runs on every page, not just the front page.
The first video didn’t help, but the a video that was linked on that page did help. Thanks!
