OK, I have galleries with a lot of pictures, some even have 200 or more from vacations. The masonry layout can cause problems when loaded the first time, a refresh does the job. But forcing the visitor to refresh is not nice. So I thought I could switch back to a standard gallery included in WP to avoid this problem. Unfortunately now (did not test the update from yesterday yet) changing the kind of gallery back to normal was gone. Only colums and rows were available. So I have to recreate these galleries from scratch. A lot of work I would like to avoid..

As soon as I activate the plugin, edit a page and try to save it I receive this error message:

If I create a new gallery, change it to advanced gallery and back to standard wordpress gallery it works.

Hi! All my sites are on ver 5.9. I found the reason! When link to media file is enabled in the wordpress gallery block I get the error. When I disable link to media file I can change to advanced gallery. I reproduced this on 3 websites, so it is obvious.
I can live with this workaround, but maybe you try and if you can also reproduce it you can fix it in future version.

PeterI tried, but some files were in use so I had to stop the webserver to be able to access them for deletion.

I just had to restor 14 websites. Not funny, guys. I start searching for statistics plugin which does not kill all my sites with updates EVERY time.
