I don’t know if this will help your particular situation, but since I was working on a brand new site in this instance, I noticed that as soon as I had a static page actually published, the option to select a static page was suddenly available in the Reading tab.

I wonder – shouldn’t Darwin email me the link automatically for each backup? I understand that might be seen as a nuisance for a high frequency backup schedule, but on the other hand, that’s where I need the link if anything goes wrong. And email filters are easy enough to set up. Just a thought.
