Fortunately, this issue was later resolved. It turned out that email was lost. The subsequent customer support was incredibly swift and professional.
The root of the problem was my misunderstanding of the placeholder value; I mistook it for a default value when, in fact, it was empty. After correcting this, the plugin operated perfectly.

I edit the file sblogin-zh_TW, and put it on
/wp-content/plugins/sidebar-login/langs/sblogin-zh_TW.po
/wp-content/plugins/sidebar-login/langs/sblogin-zh_TW.mo
my wp-config.php is setting
define (‘WPLANG’, ‘zh_TW’);
still not work!
Ideas anyone?
