It wasn’t wordpress.
I just figured it out now.
In the hosting center i entered the old domain to be redirecting to newdomain.com.
I added a slash and now it works:
newdomain.com/
Simple as that.

It’s still displaying:
http://www.newurl.compathtoapage/2012/
(without the necessary “/”).
I had a “Custom Structure” with following in there:
/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
As you can see I do have a / in the beginning.
For a test I changed “Month and name”
http://www.newurl.com/folder/2012/10/sample-post/
However it is still NOT WORKING :S.
Any clue?
