Found the solution. Apparently another plugin (Hide Categories and Products for Woocommerce) caused the search results to be inadequate. Deactivated it and now the search works better.
It now searches in the Product Description as well as the Product Title. It still doesn’t look at Category, but when I checked the demo of the template again, I found that this doesn’t work there either.

Thx. Found it. There seems to have been one empty and/or corrupt filter item. Deleted it, now it works 🙂
