Thanks Kevin for the feedback. I have updated the code again. Please update the version of plugin to 17.1. It is really difficult to blindly update something without testing it. Kindly let me know if the current changes are working fine or not. Based on the input you shared, I updated the code; but I could not test it as I don’t have access to any Elementor plugin. Please let me know if it works or not.

Hi Kevin,
I have created a new version of the plugin 17.0. Please enable the checkbox “Remove Elementor Website Builder meta generator tag (Applicable if Elementor Website Builder is used)” after updating the plugin.
Please note that I could not test the changes as I don’t have Elementor Website Builder with me. So, I would request you to let me know if it is working or not; so that based on your feedback I can make further changes. Make sure to clear any website cache before testing.

Hi Alex,
From the website’s ‘view source’ you can find the JS file names (Right click on the website page – not the WordPress admin – and click on ‘View page source’). There if you search with ‘.js?ver’ you can see the JS file names. For now, please add ‘language-cookie.js’ in the textarea and enable the JS removal checkbox. Please let me know if that worked. Meanwhile I am looking into the issue.
Thanks Alex. Let me check why removing the version from JS files is causing the issue. Need to check if WPML updated their code make version mandatory or not. One quick way-around is to exclude the WPML JS file from the version exclusion process. Do you know the WPML JS file name, then you can mention that name in the textarea to exclude that file?

Thanks for letting me know. I will look into it. Could you please help me with few more details? Inside Meta Generator plugin settings, there are multiple checkboxes that are selected by default. Could you please help me by pointing out which checkbox selection is causing this issue for your website?

Same issue is happening with my website as well. It was working before but after the update It is not opening WhatsApp.

dominant-color-images 1.1.0 comes from plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/dominant-color-images/
performant-translations 1.2.0 comes from plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/performant-translations/
What are the other plugins you are using; that are creating those tags? I need the plugin URLs so that I can analyze the source code and update the code.
