I changed my theme to Twenty Twenty Three, deactivated all plugins except Hero Post Lite, and tested on another WordPress site to no avail. When selecting a template to insert, the screen turns gray (see link) and there is no insertion into the editor, it is still blank.

I thought of that but a couple of pages were called “test” or “test1” etc…(from when I was fooling around with the old site). Concerning if I do re-create a page and the content is different, will it matter to the Googlebot?
