    Hey,

You’ll just need to make sure that the link you access your forum from is entered as the redirect url in your facebook settings in settings -> wpbb settings and that it is also the same over at facebook e.g. “http://mywpsite.com/forums” or “http://mywpsite.com/?page=12002”

Yes you’ll also need to register using facebook first, which basically just registers a WordPress account for you. Makes it easy for administrators to keep track of facebook registrations in my opinion, rather than allowing anyone with a facebook account to login and use the forum. Haven’t looked into it too much though, so it could all change someday, but that’s what you have to do atm.

This is fixed in the next major version however at the moment if you have set sub forums to be displayed on the forum index then it just displays the name of the sub forums in that category’s forum, only when you view the inside the forum should you see the list of sub forums and their descriptions. Is this correct for your site or isn’t it working this way?

No problem. You may need to empty your cache on your laptop’s browser(s).

Hey SpanishPoint, could you provide more details about the problem you’re having. Are you referring to the back-end or the front-end? Is the forum itself not integrating with your theme properly or are you talking about the admin side because we leave that to WP?

    Hey,

No this isn’t currently possible but I have already implemented this for the next “big” version so that it’s apart of the core of the plugin.

    Hey,

Thanks for reporting. Should be fixed in 1.1.4. Please update.

    Hey Dave,

Please check if the “wpbb-template.php” file is in your template’s folder. If it isn’t, copy it from the wp-bulletin-board plugin folder to your theme folder and make sure the WP page that it uses, should be “Forum” is using the “WPBB” template. You should be able to reactivate the plugin once the file is in your theme folder and it should do this for you.

    Hey again,

Thanks for using WPBB! I will take a look at this locally then provide you with an update tommorow 🙂

    Thanks

Heh, no sorry that’s not possible without a lot of modifications. Have received similar suggestions in the past so will definitely look over them again and think about this when continuing development with the next version! Will mark as resolved but if you have any other suggestions please post in the suggestions thread I’m now about to make rather than creating any further topics / replying here so we can keep it tidy.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately this is not currently possible by default but thank you for the suggestion, will hopefully be adding more ways to connect with Facebook than the current login / register in the next version!

    Glad to hear it!

Sure can, is it a free theme that you downloaded? Could you provide a name or link for the theme?

I’ve actually added this to the rewritten version already so you will be able to set permissions for categories and also prevent role(s) from actually seeing a category / forum or sub forum, but it’s still quite a while away from being released yet.

    Ok, thanks 🙂

Please chmod your ‘twentyeleven’ theme to 0755. That should do it.

Sure, here is the SQL query you need to run (will be updating the plugin shortly with this fix):

Did you try the WPBB -> Tools -> Refresh Roles as well? It does work for me locally with this fix, I’m guessing that some role(s) aren’t being recognized properly and so it isn’t able to add them to the category/forum/subforum.

    Hey,

I don’t think this is an issue with the plugin. The plugin simply displays a register or login link and then you register normally with WordPress. WPBB leaves all this to WordPress. The only time the plugin doesn’t is when a new user registers with facebook and the plugin creates a new WordPress user using a WordPress function (not modified in anyway by the plugin) which should handle emailing the user as well . So I think it may be a bug with WordPress or another plugin, especially when you said they tried resetting their password and the key was invalid. WPBB doesn’t handle any of this.

You could try opening a topic in the support forums, see if anyone else has had a similar problem or may know what is causing it. You may also want to post what plugins you currently have installed here and/or in the support topic. You may also consider upgrading to WP 3.5.1, I believe you’re using 3.5. Feel free to link to this topic in your support topic as well.

Please let me know if you find a solution, have any other questions, problems, etc 🙂

    Hey,

Could you please post the errors you’re receiving? You could also check that your theme folder has the file “wpbb-template.php”, if it doesn’t exist it’s likely why the error was generated, but feel free to post the errors here anyway.

Will also fix the slashes in maintenance message and update the plugin shortly along with a few other fixes, I didn’t actually fix it in the script when I posted the solution.

    Thanks!
