One site where there are phpbb and wordpress is lavorareonline .org.
the plugin works well, but after you follow normal installation you must re-copy 2 files (auth and common), it give you error in wordpress dashboard, but work well.
I want to write another minor bug: fist time that you login, phpbb will not share the session.

Sorry, i read it now and i read error log..
there is only my problem of a conflict in js (if it can help other with same error):
