I’m trying this now, thank you so much for your help.
    it is so, so appreciated!

I’ll let you know how it goes. 🙂

I would then try going to your theme options and looking for menu options. It should say something like “drop down menus,” or “menu options.”
You should be able to find a different style there without arrows or disable them altogether. If you have just a basic theme you will not have these options and will need to edit the “php style-sheet” under “editor.” If you do not know programming I would not edit this page as your site will no longer work after editing it, if you jack it up.

There are many programmers that you can find to fix that issue for you for $20 bucks or so on Odesk if you need someone that knows php.
Just set your price when you post a job, never do it by the hour.

    cheers

Okay, so I just tried this.

went to my ftp server wp-content/themes/awake I added “-old” to the end of it so it looks like this. wp-content/themes/awake-old
    still not working.
should I add it to the themes folder so it would look like wp-content/themes-old

My theme is called awake by the way. Am I still missing something?

    Thanks for the help.

You should be able to reset any tab in the menu, just go to:
appearance/menus. On the left you can remove any tab and then add it again. This will not delete any of your pages, this is just affects the menu.

I would remove the two tabs and then add them again.

    Hope this helps,
    Cheers

Your homepage will be under the theme itself in most cases.
This means clicking on the theme tab in the menu bar, and looking for the home page. There is in most cases, a drop down where you can select and page form the site to show on the home page. You should be able to find what page is being pulled to show up or you should be able to just edit right there.

    Hope that helps.
    Cheers

in your wordpress admin, you should have a tab with the theme you bought. Click on that theme tab and you should see something called slider or banner. Under that will be the options to change the text, remember to click the + arrows and drop downs menus.

    Hope that helps.
    Cheers
