In reply to: [Hemingway] Gallery issueInstalling the plugin solved the issue. Many thanks, Anders!
@mickandkimi, I set each author avatar by going to the Users area, finding the Profile for the user and uploading a photo under “Profile picture.”
@mickandkimi, my workaround is this: All of our regular authors have individual avatars. I have set an image of a cartoon word balloon as our default avatar. So now our commenters get the word balloon as an avatar.
@mickandkimi, your question is exactly what I’m trying to find out.
For background, here’s what led to this post:
I was reviewing plugins with an eye toward deleting ones I no longer needed. I added this one around the time I launched the site in 2015. When looking at the settings, I realized I could designate a default avatar that would apply to any users who did not have their own avatar.
For background, almost all of the volunteer users and free-lancers we use have their own avatar – a photo of the writer that I uploaded. There are a few authors that we don’t have avatars for, so I liked the idea of setting our logo as a default avatar for them.
After implementing it, I realized that comment authors were getting the default avatar. Since commenters are not representing out site, I want to either exclude them or create a separate default for them. That led to my question.
I’m not sure if this helps, but I wanted to give you background for why I raised the issue.
@mickandkimi, I hope they provide a solution. If not, I’ll uncheck the default avatar box and associate our logo with each specific post author who I don’t have a photo for. Maybe I’ll find a different avatar for comment authors and make that our new default avatar.

In reply to: [Post Snippets - Custom WordPress Code Snippets Customizer] RedirectsThat worked! Thanks!!
My events are importing into the database but they’re missing the designated category and not displaying on the calendar. Is that part of the bug?

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Hide the category filterThat worked. Thanks!!
Solution: I found an older (but still current) archive, and it imported correctly. Whew!
I just got the same error message: Site could not be imported!
Archive file is not compatible with the plugin! Please verify your archive file.I used the plugin to export the site yesterday. This morning I set up a new WordPress instance, added the plugin and attempted to import.
What steps can i take to restore the site?
Thank you.

In reply to: [Edin] Reduce depth of main image on home pageRachel, an old boss of mine (who was also the company IT director) used to like to answer user requests with: “OK, if that’s what you THINK you want.”
Apparently what I thought I wanted wasn’t the proper solution. I tried the custom CSS change, and it kept the same 422-pixel at all screen configurations on the responsive scale.
I guess what I’m looking for is a way to display a featured image in the Edin front page template that starts less deep than the template normally calls for and continues adjusting to different screen shapes. Does that make sense?
The staging site I’m using is http://test.relationshipbuilders-lakeland.com/
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

In reply to: [Edin] Reduce depth of main image on home pageThank you, Rachel. I do mean the featured image on the Edin front page template. I’ll try your suggestion.
Earlier, I tried using an image with a height less than 577 pixels, which seems to be the default for that spot, and the new photo still filled the entire space, but with the edges cropped off.
Thanks for the Jetpack suggestion. I am already using the plugin on that site, so that sounds like a good solution.
