I have it working again, but no clear reason why. I reactivated the plugins and it restarted. Very strange. There is, I assume, a conflict between a theme and a plugin.

Now it works I can activate and deactivate the plugins and it continues to work. I’ll be back next time it breaks.

I’ve checked the homepage source and the feeds are specified. It seems lots of users are having RSS problems, I’ve already deactivated all my plug-ins and that hasn’t solved the problem. Any input or feedback would be welcome.

You’ve obviously resolved this. Since I have the same problem, can you describe what you did please?

Never mind, you can set by post , top right, Newsletter Access needs to be set to Everybody

Could you give a specific setting that you switched off?

I worked on a post for nearly 2-months and it was set to autopost today and gets “This post is for subscribers” – grrrrrr

If that’s the case Devin then at least for me I’d like to have seen a screenshot or something in the documentation that explicitly showed how to use the block and the shortcode. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see it for looking.

Obviously I understand why developers are moving away from shortcode style plugins to blocks, and thats great.

Unfortunately our website was initially built at the start of last year for us by a “marketing/development” company who chose to use WPBakery. I’m not happy about that, but have to live with it for a few years until it’s time to do a complete rebuild.

In the interim I’m not a newbie wordpress user, but am not a power user either, I do accounts, payroll and loads of other things for our small business. I’m still messing about with how to include reviews on our website, they are currently and randomly displayed on the FAQ page while we work out what to do. It meant using two plugins.
    Both use shortcodes.

Since I didn’t get any responses here, I went ahead and built this fairly simple, inelegant image map version. It does what I want, but I need more.

It’s also totally hardwired thus I have to edit the map for every new instance I want to use.In essence though I realized that the basic requirement is what linktree does. I’m surprised that linktree doesn’t have a wordpress widget or integration.

assuming anyone else is reading this… does anyone know of a wordpress widget that can be used for pop-ups?

rather than hardcode the image map to take up space in the post, I’d like to post an image with a play button, when clicked, it opens a pop-up with the streaming service selection list. Any ideas?

Hello Carolina, my mistake (again). I have to say, overall I’m struggling with the whole block editor. I can see I’ll have to take some of the online classes and stop trying to bend it to what I think it should do….

Thanks for the comments, you are of course right, my mistake. I’m still struggling to get the new block editor to do what I want. Thank you though.

Samuel, not trying to be argumentative, I did a search on this before posting here and found a number of results saying they’d been removed from a plug-in called CoBlocks as the color settings were being implemented in base WordPress, and that was a while ago. I’ve never used or installed CoBlocks plugin.

And if they have never had them, how did I use it before as shown in the images above?

Thanks for the work around, I’ll wait and see what my theme developer says, if anything.

It’s definitely related to the heading block, if I change the block to paragraph, I can change the text and background color, but as soon as I change it back to a heading block, the changes are lost.

Thanks yes, just to confirm user error.
