• Hi Support,

I’m using WordPress, Classic Editor, and SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin.

In the description, depreceated shortcodes, and blocks are mentioned. I don’t understand. Does this mean that WP Adverts cannot be used with the Classic editor?

    Thanks in advance. Regards,

    Hi,

it can be used with the classic editor or a page builder, the recommended way to do that though is to build pages like classifieds list and publish using block editor and then embed them into classic editor or the page builder with the [adverts_block] shortcode.

Please see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWbt-tsPrfg&pp=0gcJCa4KAYcqIYzv for more details it shows how to do it with Elementor, but the process should be similar for any other page builder or classic editor.

I understand. I’m a little disappointed. If I need to use the Block Editor, it’s impractical. I don’t want to use the Block Editor, like many other users. I’ve disabled the Block Editor (Gutenberg). I’m only using the Classic Editor and Page Builder.

Is it still possible to use old shortcodes even though they are depreceated? Do they still exist or have they been completely removed from the WPAdverts plugin?

I am not planning to remove the shortcodes anytime soon (or at all) so you can use them, just please keep in mind they are using an outdated design and will most likely stay like this.

I think a good compromise is to enable Gutenberg, configure your WPAdverts blocks using the block editor, disabled Gutenberg again and load the blocks with [adverts_block] shortcode.
