  • Is the theme you are using custom or did you get it from the themes area/purchase it?
Are you using a plugin to create these portfolios?
Can you edit each page displaying each category?

My guess would be either there is an issue with the theme/plugin code that is making the 3 categories act like they are the same code, or each of the pages in question is sharing the same shortcode that has those 3 categories selected.

    HI Michael,

This was a theme we purchased back in 2011 from themeforest.

I took a look at the plugins on wordpress, I see Shadowbox JS, that might be what it is using. There is also a section in the Dashboard menu called PORTFOLIO that contains Portfolio, Add New and Portfolio Categories.

Not sure what you exactly mean by “Can you edit each page displaying each category?” I’d need an example and additional information to help you answer that.

Your guess seems accurate. How do we fix? Is there a way you or someone you know could advise?

First thing I would do is make sure you have the latest version of the theme. If you purchased it back in 2011, have you been receiving updates since then?

The issue could also be with Shadowbox JS, looking at the plugin page (https://wordpress.org/plugins-wp/shadowbox-js/) I see it has not been updated in 2 years. Depending on which version of WordPress you are using (I hope it the latest or at least a version or 2 old), that could be interfering your site as well.

The theme was a one of, there were no updates.

There were updates in the plugins which are all up to date.

    Latest version of WordPress
I’m wondering if someone can go into the code and correct what you is wrong.

    Any thoughts?

I may have to tell the client this is much more than a simple web update and requires a web coder to fine tune the issues

    Justin
